In Feb. 2016, Harinder Sidhu, was named Australia's new high commissioner to India.
She is the third NRI envoy in India, after the US and Canadian envoys and the second Indian-origin Australian high commissioner in India
- Harinder Sidhu moved to Australia as a child with her family from Singapore.
- She graduated with Law degree and also got a Bachelor of Economics degrees from the University of Sydney.
She was Assistant Director-General in the Office of National Assessments, First Assistant Secretary in the Department of Climate Change, and Senior Adviser in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. She also served overseas in Damascus and Moscow.
